Frequently Asked Questions:

A: SEP So Cal Youth Camp 2012 is from Sunday, July 1 - Saturday, July 7.
A: The regular camp tuition is $485 for 7 days, 6 nights & 17 meals.  But if you put down a $100 non-refundable deposit & register online by January 15th, you will receive a $60 discount which reduces the tuition to $425.  (The remaining $325 balance is due by May 15th.)

A: We work very hard to keep the cost of camp as low as possible and yet run a safe, effective and life transforming camp.

Here are some of the things that the $485 is paying for:

  • 7 Days & 6 Night Lodging at a Christian Retreat Center
  • 17 Excellent Quality Meals (this new facility has reputation for good food!)i
  • 3 Camp T-Shirts
  • Laundry (to wash the Camp T-Shirts twice)
  • SR Camp High Ropes Challenge Course & Zip Line
  • Full-time Lifeguards at the Pool
  • JR Camp Creative Arts Supplies
  • Equipment & Supplies for Activities (click here for list of activities)
  • Prizes for competitions & Awards for ceremonies
  • Decorations
  • Tiaras, swords & other supplies for the Purity Session
  • Truck Rental
  • Office Supplies
  • Staff Training, Room & Board
  • And more...

Volunteer Staff: One way that we keep costs way down AND yet also attract high quality, devoted staff members, is that we do not pay the staff.  They are ALL volunteers.  They take a week off of work, pay their own travel expenses, get trained and sacrificially serve the youth for an entire week.  In exchange, we give them 3 T-Shirts and pay for their room & board.  (which is funded by the camper tuition.)  It may not sound like a fair trade, but once most people serve at camp and experience how rewarding and life changing it is, they get hooked and we can't stop them from coming back!

Staff to Camper Ratio: One of the areas that we won't compromise on is the Camper to Staff Ratio.  We typically have better than a 3:1 Camper to Staff Ratio for the entire camp -- which is almost unheard of!  We could try and save money and not have as many staff, but we have found through experience that we don't want to "survive" the week with as few as staff as possible, we want REAL life change and breakthroughs to happen - which takes a lot of interaction time between campers and staff.

A: According to the ACA (American Camp Association), the average 7 day resident camp averages around $575 and goes up to well over $1000, so SEP So Cal is well below the ACA average.
A: SR Campers (age 12-18) have the option to play paintball for an additional $20 fee.  We will collect the paintball money (cash or check) at registration only.
A: Yes we offer payment options such as credit, debit and echeck through PayPal payment services.
