What is SEP So. Cal.?
SEP So. Cal. is a week-long youth summer camp held the second week of July at Cedar Lake Camp, a 270-acre mountain retreat center, 7,000 feet above sea level, just outside the village of Big Bear Lake CA.
It is a Christian Camp that is open to youth ages 8-18 from all denominations and faiths. Why is SEP So. Cal. such a life transforming camp?
SEP So. Cal. promotes a holistic approach to
youth ministry that acknowledges and strives to develop the whole potential of the participant. This
camp seeks to develop youth not only spiritually, but also emotionally, physically and socially. This is accomplished through chapels, debriefing, solo time, activities, sports, special events, dorm living and other experiences.
SEP So. Cal. has excellent staff that genuinely care for the youth. All of our staff are screened and have passed a background check. Our camp directors are ACA Certified (
American Camp Association). Our staff are well trained and have a real heart to work with youth.

SEP So. Cal. is a great deal for the price. Our tuition at SEP So. Cal. is much lower than the average one-week resident camp (Average ACA one-week resident camp $525-$650 and our camp is only $430-460). Included in the tuition is 7 days & 6 nights of meals and lodging, 3 camp T-shirts, a welcome gift, for JR. Camp, an afternoon at a
water slide in Big Bear and for SR. Camp, an afternoon on a
High Ropes Challenge Course.
In the end, it is the spiritual component and the human equation of how the activities and experiences are conducted at SEP So. Cal. -- with love, respect and care -- that makes this camp so life transforming.
Youth need a positive, uplifting envronment to be encouraged and challenged to grow in their relationship with God and others. SEP So. Cal. is that kind of a place.
